On Monday, a dog slipped its leash during a stroll and decided to venture into a nearby marsh in Bertrange. The leisurely outing in a local forest took an unexpected turn when the dog found itself stranded on a small island in the centre of the marsh, unable to swim back to shore.

Realising the dire situation, the dog's owner acted promptly by calling for assistance. Thanks to the swift response of the Grand Ducal Fire and Rescue Corps (CGDIS) water rescue team, along with support from a fire and rescue vehicle despatched by the Mamer Intervention and Rescue Centre, the dog was successfully rescued and reunited with its relieved owner.

This positive news was shared by CGDIS on their social media accounts and serves as a reminder that its teams are always available in the event of an emergency, including for our animal friends.
