At the Caravan Salon in Düsseldorf on Friday, the Mullerthal Trail received the label 'Leading Quality Trails - Best of Europe' for the fourth time in a row.

The label is given out by the European Ramblers' Association to hiking trails that meet very specific quality standards.

Behind the label lies a special system of criterias that takes into account the needs of hikers. They aim to make the attractiveness of hiking trails more tangible and guarantee a high standard of trails.

To get this label, the paths must be continuously signposted and offer a natural and varied route throughout, as well as an impressive landscape. Also taken into consideration is whether there are any cultural sights along the way, if there are enough resting spots, and if the trail is well connected to public transportation.

As the conditions of hiking paths is an important criteria for many travellers when choosing their destinations, those in charge of the Mullerthal Trail are happy to have received the prestigious label for the fourth time in a row.

Christophe Origer, the president of the Regional Tourism Office for the Mullerthal region and 'Little Switzerland', stated that without the collaboration of all the actors in the region, it would not be possible to keep up the high quality.

More than 200,000 hikers walked the Mullerthal Trail in 2022. The overall path has a total length of 112 km. It consists of three different routes (38 km, 37 km, and 37 km) that offer a great variety of sights and landscapes.
