The list is meant to serve as a valuable resource for attracting foreign talent to fill critical roles and is a response to Luxembourg’s pressing need for professionals across various sectors.

The healthcare sector is a primary area of concern, with nurses, care assistants, and psychologists all in high demand.

In addition to healthcare, the construction industry is grappling with a shortage of workers specialising in facade construction, roofing, zinc work, and photovoltaic panel installation.

The industrial sector requires engineers, operators, and maintenance staff.

The financial sector, a key driver of Luxembourg’s economy, is actively seeking professionals in trading room negotiation, collective investment scheme management, credit analysis, financial analysis, and bank account management.

Roles in human resources and accounting within the services sector are also in demand.

IT remains a major recruitment hub, with opportunities for network administrators, auditors, and programmers.

The next update of the très en pénurie (‘in serious shortage’) job list is scheduled for the first half of 2024.
