Motorists are advised to plan ahead for the upcoming weekend as significant disruptions are expected due to construction work at Croix de Gasperich.

The A1 motorway towards Trier will be closed to traffic between Croix de Gasperich and the Howald tunnel, along with closure of the A3 slip road from Luxembourg City to the A1.

To manage traffic flow during this period, a major diversion route will be implemented. On the A1 between Croix de Gasperich and the Howald tunnel, traffic will be directed to a bidirectional lane with a speed limit of 50 km/h.

Motorists coming from the A3 motorway headed towards the A1 motorway towards Trier will be rerouted via Croix de Gasperich, the A6 towards Arlon,  Croix de Cessange, A4 towards Luxembourg City, the Merl roundabout, the A4 towards Esch-sur-Alzette, Croix de Cessange, and finally, the A6 towards Luxembourg City, before returning to Croix de Gasperich.

The construction work is scheduled to start around 10pm on Friday, 28 July, and is anticipated to last until approximately 5am on Monday, 31 July.

Motorists should be aware of possible traffic issues starting late afternoon on Friday, due to preparatory work on the site which may begin earlier.
