Following the municipal elections, the Luxembourg Socialist Workers' Party (LSAP) and the Democratic Party (DP) have solidified their coalition until 2029, after initially signing a letter of intent the day after the elections.
The coalition negotiations proved "fruitful," with "substantial areas of agreement" identified between the two parties.
Carole Hartmann, a member of the DP, will succeed Yves Wengler from the Christian Social People's Party (CSV) as the new mayor.
Ben Scheuer from the LSAP will serve as the first alderman, while Jean-Claude Strasser, also from the LSAP, will assume the position of second alderman on the municipal executive board.
The role of second alderman will be shared by representatives from both the DP and the LSAP, resulting in a DP representative filling the position during the latter half of the legislative term.
