Around 10.15am, reports came in of four injured people following a head-on collision. The rescue helicopter was dispatched to the scene given the severity of the accident.
According to police information, a vehicle coming from Ahn veered onto the other lane in a bend, hitting a second vehicle coming from the other direction. The first car crashed and rolled over, ending up on its roof. The driver was seriously injured.
The two people in the second vehicle were slightly injured. Another vehicle coming from Ahn hit the first car, leaving this driver with serious injuries as well.
One lane was blocked to traffic following the incident, but soon later the stretch of the Route du Vin was closed down completely to allow for cleanup works.
