The authorisation for the current infrastructure expires in spring next year. The new depot will stay connected to the Central Europe Pipeline System (CEPS) in Bitburg, which is a programme run by NATO.
Costs are estimated to be €86 million. The administration has already filed a respective draft law in the Chamber of Deputies.
