Up until April last year, the unemployment rate had dropped; however, it has since risen slightly.

From the Statec press release

As of 30 April 2023, the total count of resident jobseekers registered with ADEM amounted to 15,330, representing an increase of 1,061 people (equivalent to 7.4%) compared to April 2022. The number of jobseekers has consistently increased across all vacancy periods, with the exception of people whose registration periods exceed 12 months.

The unemployment rate as calculated by STATEC, and corrected for seasonal variations, now stands at 4.9%, maintaining the same value as the previous month.

New registrations are on the rise, with 2,138 new registrations by residents recorded in April 2023. This marks a 2.2% increase (46 people) compared to April last year. It should also be noted that the number of new registrations in April also included 52 beneficiaries of temporary protection (refugees from Ukraine).
