Meat producer Cobolux has announced that it will close its in-house abattoir at the end of the year.

Beginning in 2024, the company will outsource its activities and collaborate with "regional businesses that respect all criteria."

According to Cobolux, abattoir activity has recently declined, and rising energy prices mean that the company is no longer competitive.

The meat producer from Wecker has stated that it intends to expand its meat production and catering operations in the future.

Cobolux employs 180 people.
