A major fire affected a building in Grundhof on Wednesday evening, destroying the entire roof and leading to three hospitalisations.
Around 10.30pm on Wednesday, the Grand Ducal Fire and Rescue Corps (CGDIS) was alerted to a fire in a former hotel turned apartment building in Grundhof. A team of around 60 firefighters were at the scene all night to extinguish the flames engulfing the roof of the building and to ensure that none of the nearby buildings were affected. Water from the Sûre river was used, which is why the entire street had to be shut to traffic.
One person was saved from the third floor with a ladder while three people had to be hospitalised. The municipality of Beaufort will take care of relocating residents affected by the fire, according to a CGDIS statement.
