First DayXavier Bettel and Lex Delles arrive in Vietnam for official visit

Prime Minister Xavier Bettel and Minister for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises Lex Delles are currently in Vietnam at the invitation of the Vietnamese Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính.

On Wednesday, Bettel and Delles arrived in the north-east of Vietnam, where they will visit the bay of Halong, which is about 165 kilometres from the capital Hanoi. The area with its over 1,600 islands, most of which are uninhabited, has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1994.

Following the visit to Halong Bay, the delegation will travel to the port of Hải Phòng to hear a presentation on the strategy and activities of the Vietnamese car manufacturer VinFast.

On the second day, Phạm Minh Chính will officially welcome Xavier Bettel in Hanoi. Aside from visiting the unknown soldier memorial and the mausoleum of former Vietnamese President Hồ Chí Minh, there will also be a ceremony for the signing of the memorandums of understanding. A discussion with former Vietnamese students who studied tourism or banking in Luxembourg is also on the agenda.

The delegation will then visit Ho Chi Minh City, where the Luxembourgish Prime Minister is invited to a bell ringing ceremony at the stock market. The last day will be devoted to the Vietnam-Luxembourg Business Forum and themed workshops organised by the Chamber of Commerce in collaboration with the Luxembourgish embassy in Vietnam.
