On Thursday the Ministry of Health announced it would no longer publish its weekly report on coronavirus infections.
The weekly coronavirus reports will now cease, following the end of daily reports on the Covid19.public.lu website last year. The Ministry of Health will also no longer publish data on lung infections such as the flu virus. However, in the event of a new wave of infections, the reports will resume, according to a statement on Thursday.
In the week from 17-23 April, the Covid situation in Luxembourg remained stable, with 220 recorded cases of infection. The week before counted 217 cases. Around 46.8% of cases were re-infections.
Flu cases have also dropped by 38.6% in the same week, from 101 to 62 infections. The type B influenza virus remains dominant.
According to a graph published by the Ministry of Health, the peak of the flu season took place in the week of 19-25 December 2022, with 2,552 recorded cases. The previous flu season in 2021/2022 had a much later, and weaker, peak, recorded at the end of March 2022.
