The Portuguese president Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa and Prime Minister António Costa arrived in Luxembourg on Sunday for a well-timed visit.
The two statesmen arrived in the Grand Duchy just in time to take in the Euro 2024 qualifier clash between Luxembourg and Portugal at the Stade de Luxembourg.
President Rebelo de Sousa and the Prime Minister were set to attend the game on Sunday evening, accompanied by Luxembourg's Grand Duke Henri, Prime Minister Xavier Bettel, Minister of Sport Georges Engel and the Luxembourg City mayor Lydie Polfer.

Ahead of the match, the Grand Duke and Grand Duchess welcomed the Portuguese delegation at the Grand Ducal palace for a private reception.
António Costa also took the time to meet Bettel for discussions focusing on the two countries' bilateral relations, as well as other national and international current affairs.
