The Grand Ducal police carried out over a hundred checks in the municipality of Esch-sur-Alzette on Saturday night, during which officers revoked seven licenses for drink driving.
Patrols were posted on the Charles de Gaulle and Aloyse Meyer Boulevards on Saturday night. The checks, which were commissioned by the prosecutor's office, began at midnight and ended at 4am on Sunday.
A total of 143 motorists were checked, out of whom eleven had consumed alcohol. Ten tickets were issued and one driver received a warning.
Five people had their licences revoked at the scene.
