As commuters know very well, traffic in Luxembourg City can get very congested - but which days and times should be avoided at all costs?
In 2022, it took people an average of 13 minutes to cover a distance of ten kilometres in the Grand Duchy's capital.
Admittedly, that's well below the world leader London, where people averaged 36 minutes and 20 seconds for the same distance, but Luxembourg City's smaller size may have skewed the data.
The figures come from the annual TomTom Traffic Index, a report compiled by the GPS navigation manufacturer with the help of user data.
According to this index, the worst day of the week for driving in the capital is generally Tuesday, especially between 5pm and 6pm.

The worst day of 2022 was Wednesday 5 October when it took motorists 17 minutes and 20 seconds on average to drive 10 km.
People lost an average of five minutes in the morning and six minutes in the evening during rush hour, which led to a combined total of 46 hours spent in traffic jams over the course of the year (two more than in 2021).
What is the impact of working from home? TomTom has calculated that by working from home on Tuesdays, a motorist can save 25 hours of travel time and €121 in fuel over the year. And with three days of working from home, a driver can save up to 74 hours of travel time and €361 in fuel.
