Woodland owners are regularly confronted with new regulations and laws that they say lack clarity and are difficult to implement as a result.

When it comes to the implementation of the '3rd Nature Protection Plan', the Ministry for the Environment, Climate and Sustainable Development hopes to cooperate with both the agricultural sector and the wider population.

More than half of Luxembourg's forests are in private hands, which is why the non-profit organisation 'Luxembourg Private Forest' demands a consistent implementation of laws. According to Winfried von Loë, woodland owners are regularly confronted with new rules and legal amendments that lack clarity.

He further argued that the Ministry should actively get in contact with people rather than expect that online announcements are enough. He also stressed that a forest warden is not a police officer and should not be asked to behave like one.

Both the non-profit and the Ministry agree that protecting forests does not imply that work is prohibited altogether.
