The Kannerklinik (Children's Clinic) at the Centre Hospitalier (CHL) is currently treating around thirty young patients suffering from the respiratory virus.

Five patients are being treated at the Hôpitaux Robert Schuman (HRS). All the specialised and intensive care beds reserved for bronchiolitis cases at the CHL are occupied. The same applies to the HRS in paediatrics.

A crisis unit has been set up at the CHL in order to establish as soon as possible a plan to increase hospital capacity as quickly as possible in order to properly accommodate young patients. Deprogramming is also planned, which means that certain paediatric surgeries that are not emergencies will be postponed.

In addition, the National Health Directorate has agreed to make the health reserve's resources available to hospitals. Minister of Health Paulette Lenert has also planned an information and awareness campaign.

This information was provided by Lenert in her reply to a parliamentary question by MPs Carole Hartmann and Gilles Baum from the Democratic Party (DP).
