A gigantic new building called 'Skypark Business Center' is slowly taking shape right next to Terminal A of Findel airport.
Construction began in 2019 and is expected to be completed in three years time.
Skypark Business Center will be the official name of the building, which will house the administrative offices of Luxembourg Airport. Officials from the Grand Duchy's flag carrier airline Luxair have in the meantime also expressed interest in relocating parts of their operations from Munsbach to the new centre.
The building is being built for the companies working in aviation, but there will also be shops, a nursery and fitness centre as well as a car park with 1,500 spaces and a hotel.
Once completed, the Skypark Business Center will offer a surface area of 70,000 square metres. Wood plays an important role in the design of the building, with over 13,000 cubic metres being processed for the project. The majority of wood is being imported from southern Germany, Austria, and Finland.
The roof of the building will have a terrace from which visitors can observe the airstrip. The first phase of construction is expected to be done by the end of 2023 or the beginning of 2024.
The Skypark Business Center is scheduled to be operational by 2025.
