The police also report several burglaries and other crimes that took place on Monday night.
At around 3.30am, two people were attacked by two assailants in Avenue Monterey in Luxembourg City. Following the attack, the perpetrators ran away. The two victims were admitted to hospital. One of them had several facial injuries.
Several burglaries have also been reported by the police in various parts of the country. Among other places, in Dudelange, where a glass door behind a house was smashed in, but also in Sandweiler, Cents, Heisdorf, and Ettelbruck. Investigations were launched.
On Halloween night, officers were despatched over 30 times to deal with noise complaints. The vast majority of cases concerned neighbours complaining about loud music coming from bars or private residences, or groups of people standing outdoors making too much noise. Because the people involved recognised the problem, the police officers were able to mostly resolve the issue on the spot.
Guests at a Halloween party in Ell got into a fight with a heavily intoxicated person. The police were called to the scene to calm the situation, while the Grand Ducal Fire and Rescue Corps (CGDIS) was despatched to treat the inebriated person.
In Dudelange, the police were called because several guests refused to leave a bar when it closed at 1am. The customers even started attacking the staff, but the officers, who arrived at the scene at his exact moment, were able to prevent worse. One person did not want to calm down and had to spend the night at the police station. They were fined and reported to the public prosecutor's office.
