The National Health Fund (CNS) has released its annual report for the year 2021, which outlines progress in the electronic reimbursement system.

Last year, the National Health Fund first launched its electronic reimbursement system, from which an estimated 915,000 clients were able to benefit. CNS officials acknowledged that there are still some problems in the system, but announced that they intend on having a fully digital reimbursement method up and running by next year.

The Fund already reimburses medical bills and fees in its 16 branches through the voucher system, of which 116,000 were filed last year. The average value of one of these vouchers is around €316.

Following the first year of the pandemic, the number of sick certificates decreased by around 10,000 last year to reach 801,000.

On Wednesday, the autumn quadripartite meeting, which focuses on the finances of the National Health Fund, will take place in Mondorf-les-Bains.
