On Thursday morning, the National Week of Housing kicks off with an exhibition at the LuxExpo in Kirchberg.

Over the next four days, the Housing Week will run alongside the climate exposition in the LuxExpo halls and showcase a number of creative ideas and solutions around construction, renovation, and decoration in accordance with energy efficiency and climate neutrality.

On Thursday morning, the exhibition was officially opened by Grand Duke Henri and Ministers Kox, Turmes, and Welfring.

In the context of the National Housing Week, the government is set to present a number of changes that the ministerial council passed on Wednesday. These include amendments to the rent laws and a reform of the rent maximum, designed to protect tenants.

On Friday, officials will then present the new and long-awaited real estate tax. There will further be a mobilisation tax on real estate and a national tax on empty apartments. Also, a national registry of buildings and apartments will be set up.
