The Federation of Craftspeople has put out a statement to advocate for an immediate lowering of the value-added tax on everything related to energy-efficient renovations.

In response to a parliamentary enquiry, the government recently announced that a reduction of the VAT rate from 17 to 3% for photovoltaic installations is currently being considered. However, the proposed reduction would only come into effect as early as 1 January 2023.

In a statement, the Federation of Craftspeople now advocates for an immediate lowering of all VAT rates in relation to energy-efficient renovations. They warn that demand may exceed supply if people all wait until the new year to benefit from the tax reduction, which is why the measure should come into effect right away.
