The energy production of photovoltaic plants has almost doubled within a year.
In July, a maximum of 40 GWh was produced compared to 23.9 GWh last year.
The reasons for this development are the many hours of sunshine we had as well as the increase in the photovoltaic panels' power.
The number of installations has also increased from 8,653 to 9,167 in one year, which may be due to the subsidy programmes, the Energy Minister said in a statement.
Claude Turmes, Minister for Energy, applauds this development. He explains that not only is this a clean source of energy and does it help the country to reach its renewable energy development targets, but it also helps Luxembourg become less dependent on Russian fossil fuels.
