With the high temperatures on Tuesday, the spate of recent fires across the country continued. Luckily, no one was injured.
A hay baler and some bales caught fire near CR346 betwen Schrondweiler and Schieren. This was put out by the fire brigades from Colmar-Schieren, Nommern, Medernach and the Nordstad.
On Hirzenhaff near Bettendorf, another hay bale fire was put out by the Nordstad firefighters, assisted by their colleagues from Bettendorf, Beaufort, Colmar-Schieren, Lintgen and Reisdorf, and an ambulance from Larochette.
Around 6pm, combine harvester caught fire between Marnich and Rodershausen. This was attended by the fire brigades from Clervaux and Hosingen.
The firefighters from Weiswampach, Wincrange and Troisvierges, meanwhile, were occupied with a fire on a field in Hupperdange, which was reported around 6.20pm.
Around 10pm, a small fire in the forest in Niesenthal near Waldbillig was put out by the fire brigades from Waldbillig, Larochette and Heffingen.
Two rubbish bin fires were also reported, one between Liefrange and Bivange, and one in Insenborn.
