On Friday the police were informed that large amounts of rubbish had been found on a forest road near the CR303, specifically the section linking Roodt/Ell to Colpach-Haut.
A police patrol despatched to the scene found that various objects, furniture, appliances, and household waste had been dumped over a length of about 25 metres in the forest.
Among the objects were a refrigerator, a sofa, several garden chairs, as well as numerous household items. Upon closer inspection and examination of the dump, it was discovered that the personal data featured on some objects had been purposefully wiped, confirming the criminal intent of those involved in the illegal dumping.
The public prosecutor's office has been informed and the municipal administration has been asked to remove the waste.
In this context, the police are looking for witnesses who may have observed suspicious activities over the past few days. Due to the amount of waste, it can be assumed that whoever was behind this either returned to the site several times or used a larger vehicle and a trailer.
Potential witnesses are asked to get in touch with the Atert Police Station, either by calling (+352) 244 92 1000 or by writing an e-mail to Police.ATERT@police.etat.lu.
