Over the Easter weekend, the body of an Italian national was discovered in the basement of a pizzeria in Kirchberg. Further details have since come to light over the woman's demise, which appears to have been caused by a brutal attack.
According to RTL sources, video footage of the night in question shows two unidentified individuals entering the pizzeria, located on Avenue John F. Kennedy, as the victim was counting the restaurant's till takings. The suspects proceeded to brutally assault the woman, before strangling her.
The perpetrators then took the woman into the basement where the restaurant's safe is located, where they proceeded to beat her again. It is thought they took around €3,000 in cash from the premises.
The woman's body was found on Sunday morning. An autopsy was ordered immediately following the discovery, and has since concluded, confirming that the woman was killed in a violent manner.
