The interests of employees and their families “are being attacked,” Back states, stressing that the Independent Luxembourg Trade Union Confederation (OGBL) would not sign anything that leads to “an extensive redistribution from the bottom to the top”.

The OGBL President accuses the government and employers of “spreading disinformation” by claiming that the OGBL is “not social enough”. According to Back, they do this “to distract from the manipulation of the index”.

When campaign pledges are being broken and when politicians are backpedalling on promises they made to the biggest trade union in the country, then it is clear that the OGBL is right, Back stresses. In moments like these, the OGBL President concludes, the trade union’s members must “stand up, fight back, and, if necessary, take to the streets”.
