Fuel prices across the country increased from midnight on Thursday.

Premium 98 petrol saw the smallest increase of 16.7 cents per litre, while 95 petrol  jumped up by 23 cents to €1.89 per litre.

Diesel prices crossed the €2 threshold, jumping up by nearly 40 cents to €2.112 on Thursday.

Natural gas will now cost €1.478 per kilo, an increase of 26.8 cents, while mazut, or fuel oil, rose 32.4 cents to €1.550 per litre for 50ppm, and €1.553 per litre for 10ppm.

On Wednesday afternoon, ahead of the price hike, queues were forming at some petrol stations around the country, according to RTL reporters.
