The police issued a warning for a fraudulent Facebook post, in which Grand Duke Henri is being impersonated to promise Luxembourg nationals and residents a chance to win €3,000.
The fake ad was posted by 'Nouvelles-Luxembourg' ('Luxembourg News') and has been circulating Facebook for several days. The message notes that Grand Duke Henri is giving away €3,000 to residents and nationals to celebrate the founding anniversary of Luxembourg. To claim the fake reward, people above the age of 18 are asked to forward personal information through a link.
The police have now confirmed that the post is fake and therefore issued a respective warning. People are advised not to trust ads that are posted by unfamiliar profiles or that sound too good to be true.
