Luxembourg’s obsession with vehicles shows no signs of abating, and despite concerns over the climate crisis, just 2% of cars registered in Luxembourg are purely electric.
4% of the cars on the Duchy’s roads are hybrids, while virtually every second car in the country runs on diesel.

German brands dominate the vehicle market, with Volkswagen (14%), BMW (10.4%), Mercedes (9%) and Audi (8,6%) all increasing their market share. Together they make up 42% of all cars registered in Luxembourg. Renault is the first non-German brand in the top ten, in fifth place with 5.3% of the market.
