There were long queues outside PCR testing labs across the country, such as at the Bionext lab in Leudelange.
Expecting a wave of customers, Bionext Lab had added an additional 100 parking spaces, but this did not prove sufficient. The car park reached maximum capacity in the morning and had to be closed off. People parked their cars on the side of the road or in the industrial area and continued on foot, causing traffic chaos.
A similar observation was made at the vaccination centre in Esch/Belval where booster doses are administered by appointment, and the first vaccine dose without an appointment.
Some people were forced to wait in line for over an hour.
