Wind gusts of up to 110 km/h are expected throughout the country between 5am-8am.
Those travelling or commuting should be extra vigilant on Thursday morning. Branches are flying around and trees may have fallen onto roads. Leaves can also make the road surface more slippery. It is best to stay out of the woods during the day.
The German weather service has issued a warning for the region around Trier until Thursday evening 6pm, with similar weather conditions.
