For the second year in a row, the Covid-19 pandemic threw a wrench into plans for a "normal" edition of the Schueberfouer.

In contrast to 2020, when the event was cancelled altogether, the carnies are present on the Glacis as of Saturday under a new concept.

The so-called Fun um Glacis event was officially inaugurated at 11am.

15 more or less terrifying attractions await visitors at Glacis, featuring some well-known names such as Bayernkurve, Booster Maxxx, Break Dance, Happy Sailor, or the Jules Verne Tower. Two big, mobile rollercoasters have also been put up, namely the Olympia-Looping and the Alpina Bahn.

The usual large entrance gate has been replaced by five identical ones all around the location. Security will check meticulously how many people are on site and if they are wearing masks.

The Glacis is split in two in 2021. One big site, which features the attractions and is not subject to CovidCheck regulations, which means that visitors must wear a mask at all times. The second, smaller location is where people can buy food and drinks. Contrary to the larger area, this location is subject to CovidCheck rules. Upon entry to this site, visitors will receive a bracelet valid for the entire day, meaning they can leave and enter as they please.

Fun um Glacis will take place until 12 September. Attractions and food stands are open every day between 11am and 11pm.
