Large-Scale TestingPCR tests at Howald centre to be done via saliva samples as of 9 August

They will thereby replace the current swab method used to sample people's throats.

The Ministry of Health made the announcement via Twitter on Thursday. At the moment, only the Howald test centre will be affected by the change.

People who take the saliva test are advised not to smoke, eat, drink, use chewing gum, or brush their teeth 30 minutes before coming to the centre. Ignoring this advice may provoke faulty test results.
