Police were called to remove vehicles parked in Clausen, after the Alzette overflowed.

After warnings were issued regarding rising water levels, the river Alzette finally broke it's banks in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

The area has been closed off for security reasons and to allow the intervention of firefighter crews.

The situation is not improving at the Place Dargent either as water levels continue to rise.

It is recommend to avoid the area and car owners are asked not to attempt to recover their vehicles as the circumstances are now too dangerous.
