The site will be redeveloped into a new convention and exhibition centre, over several phases. Work will take place as a collaboration between stakeholders, including the Fonds Kirchberg.
The Ministries of Tourism and Public Works announced the decision via press release on Thursday.
For years, the exhibition halls have been a topic of discussion, with a potential move away from their Kirchberg location being the major point of discussion.
