"30 is the new 50, kids will thank you for it!" is the motto of the campaign.

The political party argued in favour of a tempo reduction from 50 to 30 km/h on the territory of Luxembourg City. Officials emphasised that it has been proven that the lower speed allows for shorter braking distances, which in return provokes fewer accident. Additionally, slower driving is less noisy.

The Left thus referred to Belgian capital Brussels, where the maximum speed has already been reduced to 30 everywhere apart from major roads. Within the first four months of 2020, the average number of accidents was reduced from 800 to 600 in comparison to the previous year.
