Initially called "Green Pass", the Covid certificate received the green light on Wednesday.

The EU Parliament voted on the future digital Covid certificate on Wednesday morning. The decision was made that the certificate must be accepted in all countries from 1 July, even if not all individual countries might be ready to issue them. Luxembourg looks to be well on its way.

The digital EU Covid certificate, which attests whether you are vaccinated, tested or recovered, allows free movement throughout the Schengen countries and will be in place for 12 months, initially. Each government is responsible for issuing a valid certificate, either in electronic form or on paper.

Should there be more aggressive virus variants or higher infection rates locally, then additional restrictions can be decided, if justified.
