After the school breakNo more home schooling in upper grades

RTL Today
This was announced by the minister of education Claude Meisch in the latest RTL podcast "Wellebriecher" on Tuesday.

The upper grades of secondary schools are expected to return to school in person after the Pentecost break, bringing homeschooling to an end for older kids.

In addition to that, two Covid tests per week are planned at schools. At primary schools, one of these will be administered at school and one can be taken home. This is an additional safety measure to prevent the spread of the virus among students, according to the minister.

Claude Meisch will present these suggestions at the government council on Wednesday, where further loosening of the current restrictions will be discussed. This was announced by the Prime Minister last week, provided the situation remains stable. The reproduction rate currently stands at 0.91.

More details about the new rules are expected at 4pm, during the press briefing by Xavier Bettel and health minister Paulette Lenert, which you can follow live on RTL Today.

The current Covid legislation expires in 10 days, which means a new bill will have to be passed in the Chamber of Deputies next week.
