In a joint statement, the Luxembourg Confederation of Christian Trade Unions (LCGB) and the Independent Luxembourg Trade Union Confederation (OGBL) explained that although a majority of private bus and coach companies benefitted from a “solid financial situation” prior to the pandemic, most are now struggling because customers are hardly booking any holiday trips.
The job retention plan aims to protect employees from more serious consequences in the coming months by introducing a number of commonly used measures, including partial unemployment, early retirement, a ban on redundancies, etc.
