The online platform Reporter.lu detailed the case in an article on Wednesday. A former tax collector is being investigated for allegedly having overlooked a businessman’s fraudulent returns, while at the same time being paid by said person to take care of his accounting.

Government officials already tried preventing similar cases with a 2006 law regulating secondary employment of tax collectors, who are in fact not even allowed to help family members file their returns.
