The first invitations to people covered by phase 4 of the vaccination campaign will be sent out this week, the ministry writes in a press release.
Concerned are residents belonging to the age category of 65-69, starting with the oldest (phase 4a), as well as vulnerable people with pre-existing health conditions (4b). These include:
- Diabetes with or without insulin, with cardiovascular complications;
- Complicated arterial hypertension, with sequelae of stroke or associated heart disease;
- Neuromuscular disease with clinical repercussions.
How to book an appointment?
The individuals concerned will receive an invitation from the Ministry of Health by post, with a detailed indication of the procedure for making an appointment in one of the vaccination centres of their choice.
Personalised assistance is also offered through a hotline specially set up for this purpose: (+352) 247-65533.
People considered to be vulnerable according to the definition of phase 4b may register for the jab via their physician from 1 April onwards and will then receive an invitation by post.
Invitations will be sent out as and when vaccines are delivered.
Phases 5 and 6
Phase 5 includes people between the age of 55 and 64, starting from oldest to youngest. The strategy further includes people who are more vulnerable due to diabetes, hypertension, or obesity.
Phase 6 then targets people between the age of 16 and 54, including people at risk of exposure due to their work, and vulnerable people who have not already been vaccinated, i.e those at risk due to a recent development.
There are no set dates for these phases to begin.
