A fire broke out in a building on the Place d'Armes on Monday evening. Firefighters were swiftly on the scene to extinguish the flames.
According to city officials, some 50 firefighters from four different communes were on site in efforts to bring the blaze back under control. The fire had broken out in a kitchen on the building's fifth floor, and quickly spread to the roof.
After fire crews attended the blaze after a report to emergency services was made at around 7pm, the flames were brought under control at 9.30pm.

Two people are thought to be being treated for smoke inhalation.
It was recommended to avoid the area on Monday evening, as thick smoke bellowed from the buildings.
Such was the size of the fire, flames and thick plumes of smoke could be seen in the night sky from a great distance.
The cause of the fire is yet to be established.
