
Four LuxairTours planes were destined for the Canary Islands and one for Madeira, all of them fully booked. Apart from accompanying the number of passengers wanting to leave the country on Saturday, airport staff was further busy defrosting the planes before take-off.
People that booked both their flights and hotels with the Luxembourgish airline will receive a free PCR test, which can be used at the respective hotel before the return flight.

As of last Friday, around 38,100 people on the Canaries tested positive for Covid-19. Tenerife and Grand Canaria have been affected the most.
LuxairTours is already looking further ahead into the future and planning to include more destinations by Easter. The airline envisions flying to Greece and possibly some destinations outside of Europe, such as Tunisia for instance.
