Journalists that started their career with us go viral”, referring to the viral polyglot Philip Crowther, who stunned people around the world with his language skills and in fact began his journalism career with a radio show at the station.
ARA says that despite having successfully raised funds and sought out financial support to stay afloat, politicians are “playing for time” and not showing support.
Therefore, one day before the Media Commission is due to meet, a group of staff and volunteers from Radio ARA will take to the streets in a symbolic gesture on the Luxembourgish tradition of Liichten (Candlemas) and “bring light to the politicians”.
Meeting on 1 February at 6pm in front of the station’s building behind Rotondes, they will proceed to the parliamentary building, arriving there at 6.45pm. A special programme will air at 7pm to support the station’s mission.
