Residential homes and office buildings should boil tap water before consumption.
Update 15.30pm: tap water is now safe to consume in the municipality of Hesperange.
Due to technical issues at the SEBES water treatment plant, water "of poor bacteriological quality" has been pumped into the network around Cloche d'Or, or "new" Gasperich.
Residents are advised not to drink the water, or at least boil it for 10 minutes in advance. Fruit and vegetables should not be washed in tap water. However, the water is safe for other uses, such as showers.
The following streets are affected in the Cloche d'Or district:
- rue Emile Bian
- rue Robert Stumper
- rue Henri M. Schnadt
- boulevard de Kockelscheuer
- rue Jean Piret
- rue Leonardo Da Vinci
- rue Gerhard Mercator
- rue Albert Einstein
- rue Charles Darwin
- rue Lise Meitner
- boulevard F.W. Raiffeisen
- rue Isaac Newton
- rue Rosalind Franklin
Water services will advise the public and press once the issue has been resolved.
