In cooperation with customs officers, police have carried out checks on 49 trains over 10 days, issuing 15 written fines.

In addition to these, police have issued 65 fines as part of checks at Luxembourg City central train station. 34 trains were checked over a series of four days, with no fines issued. In total, officers checked around 5,000 passengers.

80 fines were distributed in total on CFL trains and at the Gare de Luxembourg due to people not respecting the mandatory mask regulation, according to a parliamentary response by Minister of Transport François Bausch. DP MP Max Hahn had requested the information.

Train staff are not permitted to sanction passengers - instead, this must be carried out by police or customs officers.
