The State Council will convene on Wednesday to assess the latest developments surrounding the national Covid response.
According to RTL information, it is highly unlikely that the current restrictions will expire on 15 December. We are therefore expecting that a joint press conference with Prime Minister Xavier Bettel and Minister of Health Paulette Lenert will be held at some point on Wednesday. Thus far, the administration has not welcomed the idea of extending visiting rights over the holidays so that families may exceptionally gather in larger numbers.
The National Ethics Committee filed its evaluation of the situation on Tuesday morning. The document was later discussed during a meeting of the Chamber's Health Commission, where Minister Lenert further elaborated on the administration's vaccination strategy. This plan found general support across the political landscape.
