Director Stéphane Pallage announced the measure on Monday afternoon, which will go into effect on Tuesday 27 October for at least a month.

All programmes are affected by the switch. Lab work, TPs and mid-term exams can nevertheless take place in the format that was planned.

The university registered 21 new cases over the weekend, and an immediate response would be required, the director said in an email to students and parents. Several positive Covid-19 cases were reported in different student residences, and parties and social gatherings that have taken place have "put an entire community of students at risk".

Pallage said more guidelines would follow in the coming days.
