Cross-border employees from Belgium are thereby able to work from home until the end of the year.
The ministry of finance announced the agreement on Monday evening. It is an exceptional ruling, which has now been expended to ease tax issues for cross-border workers.
Belgian employees are given the possibility to continue working remotely from home without having to pay taxes at a later stage. Before the crisis, they were only able to do so on 24 days per year. Around 50,000 people could benefit from this ruling.
A similar agreement has already been found with Germany, while negotiations with France are currently being held.
